The Silver Age

Let's see how obscure I can get before someone catches on to what I'm doing...

I really hate it when people would rather sleep than watch a meteor shower with you. And I really don't like sitting out on the porch alone at night.

Well I haven't been on here in months. Not much going on that I'm really going to care about when I sign on again in another three months, so I'll just do a survey. Stolen from Christina :)

21 SECRETS.

1.WHAT IS YOUR DISPLAY NAME ABOUT?
It was the name of a font from one of those downloadable font websites. I thought it was clever at the time (that was years ago).

2. WHERE WAS YOUR DEFAULT PICTURE TAKEN?
I have noooo idea. Found it on google.

3. WHATS YOUR HEADLINE MEAN?
I don't have one.

4. HONESTLY, IF SOMEONE WERE TO TELL YOU HOW THEY FELT, WOULD YOU LISTEN?
Sure

5. WHATS YOUR CURRENT MOOD?
Pretty ok. Not good, not bad.

6. WHATS YOUR MOST VALUED POSSESSION?
That's tough. I think all the movies I have (more than one possession but all the same kind of thing.. haha... gotcha). I like watching different films that evoke different feelings and emotions. I think being able to be manipulated into feeling a certain way in only an hour and 1/2 is pretty interesting.

8. IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, AND CHANGE SOMETHING WOULD YOU?
Of course. There's a lot of things I regret doing and not doing.

9. IF YOU MUST BE AN ANIMAL FOR ONE DAY, WHAT WOULD YOU BE?
A bird. Definitely.

10. EVER HAD A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE?
I almost drove off a cliff in the Catskill mountains a week ago. It reminded me a lot of the mountains in Spain.

11. WHATS THE NAME OF THE SONG THATS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD?
I have.. Yellow Submarine stuck in my head for some reason.

12.WHO DID YOU COPY AND PASTE THIS FROM?
Christina

13. HAVE YOU EVER SANG IN FRONT OF A LARGE AUDIENCE?
Haha, choir in 5th. And in 2nd. Rockin Robbin. We got to wear sunglasses.

15. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY ORDER FROM STARBUCKS?
Iced chai

16. DO YOU STILL WATCH KIDDY MOVIES OR TV SHOW?
All the time.

17. NAME SOMETHING THAT U DID TODAY?
Wrote part of a play.

19. DO YOU SPEAK ANY OTHER LANGUAGE?
No, not really. Not unless you count school Spanish. How embarrassing.

20. IS THERE SOMEONE ON YOUR MIND NOW?
Nope.

T. S. Eliot

The Hollow Men

We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us—if at all—not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men.

Eyes I dare not meet in dreams
In death’s dream kingdom
These do not appear:
There, the eyes are
Sunlight on a broken column
There, is a tree swinging
And voices are
In the wind’s singing
More distant and more solemn
Than a fading star.

Let me be no nearer
In death’s dream kingdom
Let me also wear
Such deliberate disguises
Rat’s coat, crowskin, crossed staves
In a field
Behaving as the wind behaves
No nearer—

Not that final meeting
In the twilight kingdom

This is the dead land
This is cactus land
Here the stone images
Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man’s hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.

Is it like this
In death’s other kingdom
Waking alone
At the hour when we are
Trembling with tenderness
Lips that would kiss
Form prayers to broken stone.

The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms

In this last of meeting places
We grope together
And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river

Sightless, unless
The eyes reappear
As the perpetual star
Multifoliate rose
Of death’s twilight kingdom
The hope only
Of empty men.

Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o’clock in the morning.

Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
                                For Thine is the Kingdom

Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow
                                Life is very long

Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow
                                For Thine is the Kingdom

For Thine is
Life is
For Thine is the

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
